- ➤ City officials approved the donation of an AAR railroad boxcar to the Scottsboro Boys Museum. The historic car (similar to those used in a 1931 case) will enhance exhibits and help educate visitors about an important chapter in our past. AL.com

- ➤ NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center removed two test stands — the Propulsion and Structural Test Facility and the Dynamic Test Facility — with coordinated implosions on Jan. 10.
