- ➤ Rock the South, a music festival moving to The Fields in Decatur for its 15th year, is set to take place six months from now — organizers plan upgrades to boost local economic benefits. FOX 54
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ NASA will roll out its Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft to Launch Pad 39B on Jan. 17 in Florida ahead of the Feb. 5 Artemis II launch, the first manned lunar mission in 50 years. Marshall Space Flight Center teams are preparing critical tests (detailed at Redstone Arsenal). AL.com
- ➤ Two historic NASA facilities at Marshall were demolished Saturday using coordinated implosions to start removing 25 outdated structures. The 360-foot tower — once north Alabama’s tallest man-made structure — was taken down around 10 a.m. as part of broader modernization plans. AL.com
