- ➤ Applications opened on Jan. 12 for the fifth Singing River Trail Launch Tank — a pitch contest offering up to $25,000 for local entrepreneurs — and residents and workers in nine area counties can apply until March 22, with finalists presenting on April 21 in Florence. - ➤ NASA demolished two historic test stands at Marshall Space Flight Center on Saturday as part of a campus modernization project — the work aims to remove outdated facilities and prepare the center for future space exploration. The Madison Record
- ➤ Huntsville Police will manage traffic during the annual MLK Day Celebration Parade by Alpha Phi Alpha on Saturday, Jan. 17. Officers will close Williams Avenue at 8 a.m. and expect delays starting around 11 a.m. as the parade runs from noon to 2 p.m. City of Huntsville
- ➤ NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman made his first official visit to Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville since assuming leadership at the agency; he toured the historic facility and marked an important milestone in his new role at NASA. FOX 54
