CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Second Mile Development in Huntsville will host a two-day benefit concert event with singer-songwriter and children’s author Jennifer Daniels on Jan. 23 and Jan. 24. It will begin on Jan. 23 at Fantasy Playhouse Theatre and continue on Jan. 24 at Trinity Methodist Church with a free interactive show for families (all proceeds support local programs). - ➤ UAH unveiled a historical marker at Campus No. 805 on Dec. 16 to honor its first classes in Jan. 1950 and the original 137 students; the event celebrated the university’s evolution as a research focused institution and announced future projects including the Raymond B. - ➤ Huntsville Utilities reported water outages around Steger Road & Hwy 20 Friday night after a contractor damaged a water line, and crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible. WAFF 48
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Madison Hospital rolled out a new state-of-the-art acute care transport ambulance on Jan. 16 to quickly move critically ill patients to Huntsville Hospital for specialized treatments. The ICU on wheels is funded by a grant from the Madison County Commission (ARPA), showing local support for improved emergency care. The Madison Record
