- ➤ Lily Flagg was a famed Jersey cow from 1892 who set the world record for butterfat production at 1,047 pounds and 3/4 ounce by General Moore. Her legacy lives on in Huntsville—streets, neighborhoods, and events bear her name even after she was later sold and missed her celebration party. WAFF 48
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Trash Pandas are hosting a job fair at Toyota Field in March to connect local job seekers with potential employers. The event will provide a chance for attendees to learn about available opportunities in the community. WAFF 48
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bridge Street Town Centre recently awarded more than $200,000 in TangerKids Grants to four local schools, including Morris Elementary, to support special education, care closets, and reading programs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ NASA delayed Artemis II — a 10-day lunar mission — to March after two-day tests at Launch Pad 39B in Florida revealed fuel and communication issues. Marshall Space Flight Center teams in Huntsville have helped support the tests to ensure the crew's safety for the upcoming launch. AL.com
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville Hospital's $450 million acquisition of Crestwood Medical Center is set to close early this year, maintaining the Crestwood name and providers but raising concerns from healthcare workers about job options and pay cuts; a spokesperson said the merger will improve patient capacity and care.
