- ➤ Mark Wills will perform at the Kids to Love Foundation’s Denim & Diamonds fundraiser on Friday, April 25, starting at 6 p.m. at the Jackson Center in Huntsville, where dinner, an auction, and live entertainment will benefit programs for children in foster care. The Madison Record
- ➤ More than 1,100 Delta Sigma Theta members gather today through Feb. 8 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville for workshops and service projects supporting the Food Bank of North Alabama and local schools. The event focuses on community empowerment and unity. WAAY 31
- ➤ Morgan County Event Center is set to open in a few weeks – featuring two gymnasiums, volleyball and pickle ball courts, an indoor walking track, and multi-purpose spaces to serve local communities. - ➤ Chrysler has announced a recall affecting over 450,000 Jeep and Ram vehicles due to a faulty trailer tow module that may cause trailer lights and brakes to fail. - ➤ Free choral concert for Black History Month will take place this Saturday, Feb. 7, at Cavalry Hill Community Center; doors open at 5 p.m., with the show starting at 6 p.m. The event features performances by Oakwood University’s Dynamic Praise Choir and choirs from Alabama A&M, Lee, and Jemison. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Redstone Arsenal and the Solid Waste Disposal Authority were honored on Feb. 5 at the City’s Air Pollution Control Achievement Awards for reducing local emissions via a waste-to-energy project that supplies 60,000 MWh of power and cuts air pollutants. - ➤ Pentagon will launch the Drone Dominance Program from Feb. 18 to early March with local companies Performance Drone Works and Griffon Aerospace competing for part of the $1.1 billion budget, and the department plans about $150 million in delivery orders after the initial phase. AL.com
