- ➤ Governor Kay Ivey announced plans for an $800 million Meta data center near Montgomery that will join the existing Huntsville campus to create new jobs. Local groups oppose a proposed 2,000-acre solar farm to power these centers – residents warn it may damage farmland and raise bills. 1819 News
- ➤ Huntsville City Council approved (state record) a $6 billion development deal with Eli Lilly for a new campus at the northeast corner of I-565 and Greenbrier Parkway; the project will create 450 high-paying jobs (with 3,000 construction roles) and site work will begin later this year. 1819 News
