GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The post office at Owens Cross Roads will be moved from 9032 Highway 431 South to 8396 Highway 431 South soon as USPS works to improve service and ease overcrowding. USPS said if the building does not meet needs, other sites will be considered following community feedback.  AL.com

HEALTH NEWS

  • Veterans in North Alabama now have expanded care as the Huntsville South VA Specialty Care Clinic held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at UAB Medicine Huntsville — the clinic will begin seeing patients tomorrow while launching a Veterans Transportation Program offering rides within 50 miles.  FOX 54

  • Alabama A&M women's basketball beat Alabama State 51-43 to clinch their first conference hardware and a share of the SWAC regular season title (their 15th win in a row) while locking in the top tournament seed.  WAAY 31
