- ➤ Huntsville Parks & Recreation will host the fifth EGGstravaganza egg hunt on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex. Over 15,000 eggs will be hidden for kids ages 12 and under with inflatables, crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny. City of Huntsville
- ➤ The Greater Huntsville Chapter of Jack and Jill of America is preparing for its annual Pink, White & Blue Children's Ball — an event celebrating children and uniting local families — with final details on time and venue to be announced soon. WAAY 31

CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ HerPower Walk returns as a free, family-friendly 5K celebrating Women's History Month at John Hunt Park on Saturday, March 28. The event invites women, girls, and supportive men to enjoy live music, food trucks, and local vendors. FOX 54
- ➤ Sébastien Izambard of Il Divo previewed the group’s performance scheduled for March 8 (at the VBC Mark C. Smith Concert Hall) during an interview with WAAY 31; the operatic pop group will perform for Huntsville fans. WAAY 31
- ➤ The US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville is playing along with social media criticisms of its new mascots by showing off its sense of humor today. The center’s playful approach has caught local attention as it embraces the feedback. FOX 54

- ➤ Dr. Jodi Price was appointed dean of UAH’s College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences effective Jan. 22 after serving as interim dean since June 2025 — she plans to strengthen student advising and expand opportunities for diverse learning paths. Huntsville Business Journal
- ➤ A parent raised concerns after the Madison County School System confirmed a bullet was found in a Monrovia Middle School classroom (Mar. 3), questioning the school’s handling of metal detector alerts. WAAY 31
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Limestone County water shows a brownish appearance after emergency maintenance on Tuesday (Mar. 3) that flushed sediment from the pipes. The water is safe to use and is expected to clear within 24-48 hours as crews prioritize residential areas. AL.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Some East Limestone residents reported brown, unusable water while Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority works to purge the system due to calcium deposits, making the water unsightly but safe for bathing. The authority expects to resolve the issue soon (apologies issued for any inconvenience). WAFF 48
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Doctors advise parents and teens to improve lifestyle habits by adding physical activity, eating healthier, reducing sodium, and cutting sugary drinks to help manage high blood pressure in children (a key step for long-term control). WAAY 31
- ➤ A local doctor warned that colon cancer cases are rising among adults under 50 due to poor diet, obesity and other conditions. His report from March 3 calls for increased early detection among residents. WAAY 31
