- ➤ L.L.Bean will open its first Alabama store at Bridge Street Town Centre on April 3 with a Bootmobile tour beginning March 28 (with a stop at Toyota Field on April 4) that will also hire 40 employees. The new 16,000 sqft store brings outdoor apparel and footwear to the community. AL.com

- ➤ Burritt on the Mountain will host Fire on the Mountain, an immersive event that brings 1800s life to the Historic Park on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees will see live open-fire cooking, blacksmithing, and hands-on activities that showcase early traditions. - ➤ Emergency crews and law enforcement are responding to a damaged gas line at Hazel Green High School, and the school has been evacuated as a precaution (Madison County Sheriff's Office advised residents to avoid the area). WAAY 31
- ➤ Huntsville City Schools presented its $600 million, 10-year capital plan on Feb. 26 to improve facilities and advance its ‘district of choice’ mission; immediately after, Mayor Tommy Battle delivered a check for over $5 million generated by closing three TIF (Tax Increment Financing) districts to support ongoing upgrades. - ➤ UAH women’s basketball defeated West Alabama Monday night at SportsMED Arena to move to the Gulf South Conference Championship semifinals.
