- ➤ The City of Huntsville will build its fifth dog park on Cabela Drive near Research Park covering two acres for dogs to run and play. A design contract worth $16,700 with Mullins, LLC—covering surveying, fencing, sidewalks, and a small parking lot—was awarded, with construction set to begin in 60 days. AL.com

- ➤ Trussville resident Major Alex Klinner (an Auburn graduate and father of three) was among six airmen killed when a KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed in Iraq on Thursday while supporting operations against Iran, and local officials noted he had only recently moved to the area. WAFF 48
