  • Delta Solutions & Strategies named Mike Rasco as Southeast Director for Business Development; he will lead the SHIELD Project Office in Huntsville and is backed by over 30 years of U.S. Army experience.   • Huntsville research from CardRates shows the Rocket City is the most financially resilient metro for 2026 while keeping housing costs 25 percent lower than national averages — a trend supported by 16,000 new apartments built since 2020 and the anticipated U.S. Space Command relocation.  Huntsville Business Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city approved an $800,000 contract with Alta Planning + Design to begin an 18-month study of Governors Drive later this spring. The study will assess safety improvements for pedestrians, bikers and motorists along an 8.85-mile stretch including the medical district near Huntsville Hospital.  AL.com
  • Decatur City Council approved new recycling measures to boost waste management throughout the city. The decision (made on Monday, Mar. 16) is set to enhance recycling programs and reduce landfill use.  WAFF 48

  • Community members, healthcare workers, and patients gathered at Campus 805 on Friday, March 6 to express concerns over Huntsville Hospital’s planned acquisition of Crestwood Medical Center (critics fear it could reduce competition, suppress wages, and limit access to care) in the region.  Huntsville Business Journal
