  • Woodward Construction & Design is working on a $9M 65,000 sqft expansion at Gulf Distributing’s Huntsville facility — the project will boost truck and product flow to support its North Alabama operations.  Huntsville Business Journal
  • Delta Solutions & Strategies named Robert McGuire as program manager for its Portfolio Acquisition Executive Office FIRES, SHIELD program in Huntsville. CULTURE NEWS

  • The annual Panoply Arts Festival returns to Big Spring Park from April 24 to 26 with music, art and food. It will feature a tribute — led by Otis Walker — for Microwave Dave on Saturday, April 25.  AL.com
  • The Rocket City Reading Festival will host over 40 local authors at Orion Amphitheater on March 21. Free book swaps, a story hour with authors, book signings, and enrollment with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will offer a fun day for families.  WAAY 31
  • During Women's History Month, three North Alabama women recalled their service as Donut Dollies who supported American troops overseas during the Vietnam War — noting that strict eligibility made the role unique. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Ivey has ordered lowering flags on the day of Major Klinner’s interment to honor him—one of three airmen killed in a KC-135 crash in Iraq on March 12 while supporting Operation Epic Fury. The order marks a tribute to the Alabama native and his family’s sacrifice.  AL.com
  • Huntsville maintained its perfect credit ratings after agencies praised its strong economy, boosted by a $6 billion Eli Lilly project, FBI facility and Space Command relocation. The city issued four debt series to fund expansion projects including Veterans Memorial Museum, Ice Sports Center, Big Spring Park and police renovations.  City of Huntsville
  • Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority apologized for water quality issues in early March when crews connected a new line, crediting customers $20 on their bills after residents reported discolored water. The credit aims to address concerns and restore confidence in the service.  WAFF 48
  • Global Force Symposium and Exposition will begin next Tuesday at the Von Braun Center as high-ranking Army officials deliver keynote addresses and 260 companies display emerging technology.   • NASA will begin the Artemis II rocket rollout from Florida on Friday after repairs, with Huntsville’s Marshall Space Flight Center playing a key role in final preparations — the mission aims for an April 1 lunar launch and will carry a crew on a 10-day journey around the moon.  AL.com
  • After emergency repairs in early March left some water discolored, the Limestone County Water & Sewer Authority will apply a $20 credit automatically to affected accounts in East Limestone County; the credit covers 2,500 gallons and will show on bills as a home flush credit.  WAAY 31

  • Doctors report a rise in colorectal cancer among adults under 65, urging residents to watch for early signs and get regular screenings. Local health centers are increasing outreach to help with early detection and prevention.  WAFF 48

  • The Bulldogs from Alabama A&M will compete in their first WBIT appearance against BYU Thursday night at 8 p.m. CT at the Marriott Center in Provo (following a record-breaking 17-game win streak) after a historic season.  FOX 54
