- ➤ Huntsville Parks & Recreation will host the fourth annual Eggstravaganza on April 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at John Hunt Park Festival Grounds behind the Jaycee Community Building at 2151 Jaycee Way. The free event will feature a grand entrance by the Easter Bunny plus scheduled age-group egg hunts, crafts, prizes and food trucks. City of Huntsville

- ➤ Osteria LuCa, an acclaimed Italian eatery from Charlotte, opened its doors at Stovehouse on March 12th and now serves authentic Italian dishes at an open-pizza kitchen — part of a partnership between Ken and Tricia Martino and Power Brands Hospitality Group— while welcoming guests for lunch and dinner daily. - ➤ Better Business Bureau released its 2024 scam tracker report which shows that investment and crypto scams caused a median loss of $5,000 and that financial grooming scams increased. - ➤ Madison Police arrested 36 year old Kobi Dale Lamar Pendleton on Tuesday night for the bank robbery that occurred on March 13 at Regions Bank on Hughes Road—he is charged with first degree robbery and held without bond at Madison County Jail. WAFF 48
- ➤ A Huntsville man, Tyler Powell, 30, now faces a murder charge after a verbal dispute turned physical on March 7 and the victim died days later—Powell turned himself in and is held at Madison County Jail on a $10,000 bond. AL.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Huntsville City Council approved a contract on March 19th for a $1.1 million streetscaping project on Monroe Street in front of the Von Braun Center and the Marriott Autograph Trilogy Hotel. The project spans 1,000 linear feet—upgrading sidewalks, streetlights, landscaping, irrigation and asphalt resurfacing—and is expected to be finished within 90 days after notice to proceed is issued. - ➤ The City of Huntsville Traffic Engineering Division will activate a new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon today at 9 a.m. at the crossing near McGucken Park—weather permitting—to alert drivers and protect pedestrians. A raised concrete island with a zigzag pattern and extended signal mast arms have been added to improve visibility at night and provide a safe refuge. City of Huntsville
