  • Project Unify, a relief group based in Trinity (Morgan County), is sending volunteers to Enid to help recover from a tornado that struck last Thursday and will travel for further clean-up after severe weather eases by Monday.  FOX 54

  • The Snail on the Wall bookstore is celebrating the 13th anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day today with events from 10 am to 5 pm—customers can spin a prize wheel, hunt for a Libro.fm Golden Ticket, and meet author Rea Frey for a signing from 10 am to 1 pm.  Huntsville Business Journal
  • Panoply Arts Festival continues downtown at Big Spring Park with 120 artists, food vendors and a performance by Jazz McKenzie. The three-day event, which began Friday, is expected to draw 70,000—75,000 visitors and boost local businesses.  WAFF 48

  • Calhoun Community College hosted an open house on the Huntsville campus this week, offering interactive lab tours and faculty meet-and-greets (in the Math, Science and CIS Building). The event gave prospective students a hands-on look at Medical Laboratory Sciences careers.  FOX 54
  • NASA's Student Launch competition saw student teams near Huntsville tackle rocket challenges as they built and launched model rockets while learning key engineering and communication skills. The event offered valuable hands-on experience for future STEM pursuits.  FOX 54

  • The new roundabout at Jeff and Mckee roads opened today, ending delays and detours for local drivers. Officials said traffic should flow smoother as vehicles adjust to the updated intersection.  WAFF 48

  • VA clinics in Huntsville hosted a Prescription Drug Take Back Day drop-off yesterday to help residents safely dispose of unwanted medications and reduce risks, with select sites available citywide.  WAFF 48
  • A local hospice honored 14-year-old Abobakr on Apr. 24 by presenting him with a white coat, scrubs, and a stethoscope to welcome him as part of their care team.  WAAY 31
