- ➤ On Monday, May 4, Huntsville Animal Services will host the 'May the 4-Pawed Be With You' adoption event at 4950 SW Triana Blvd where adoption fees for dogs and cats are waived (including vaccinations, microchipping and spay/neuter services). - ➤ Huntsville’s HudsonAlpha hosted the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology’s Biotech Across America Roadshow Tuesday, where local leaders and company representatives discussed biotech’s impact on agriculture, health & space innovation. - ➤ The annual Japanese Spring Garden Festival will be held on Sunday, May 3 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Monte Sano State Park, where families can enjoy traditional dance, music, tea ceremonies, crafts and antique vendors (entrance fee is $10/vehicle). The Madison Record

- ➤ Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, both with Alabama ties, were awarded Pentagon contracts totaling nearly $725 million. Raytheon will supply a precision landing system for Navy carriers by April 2030 and Northrop will support F-16 radar systems until March 31, 2036. AL.com
- ➤ City and military leaders held a ribbon cutting today at the new U.S. Space Command facility in Huntsville — officials welcomed the first operational staff and noted that parts of the facility are still under construction to boost regional defense and job growth. WAAY 31

- ➤ Huntsville Hospital Health System CEO Jeff Samz told City Council that the newly acquired Crestwood Medical Center will keep its brand and operations unchanged while the system invests $4 billion to keep local dollars in the community (closed March 31) and staff compensation remains unaffected. - ➤ A teen (fighting rare bone cancer) posted a viral video pleading for life-saving medicine and drawing strong local support. His heartfelt message has reached many community members as he seeks vital treatment. FOX 54

- ➤ Madison Academy's girls soccer team advanced with a 3-1 win over Collinsville after Maggie Boyd scored two goals from a penalty kick and Payson Thomas netted one goal on Tuesday.
