GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ALDOT closed southbound lanes on I-59 between Exit 205 at Collinsville and Exit 188 at Reece City on Friday for crossover repairs lasting several hours — drivers were directed on a detour via SR-68 east, US-11 south and 211 south back to I-59. WHNT News 19
- ➤ On May 15, the council approved $1,334,500 for renovations at the Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Recreation Center at 4600 Blue Springs Rd; a 365-day contract with a local design firm will add sports courts, a pavilion, playground upgrades and interior improvements including new floors, lighting and HVAC systems.
