  • The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber is hosting a nine-day Armed Forces Celebration from June 5 to 13 that honors the town's defense community — a vital part of the local economy.   • Mae Adams serves as vice president and private banking officer at ServisFirst Bank and as 2026 Chair of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library Foundation Board.   • Live Night at The Camp is a free music event featuring Nashville artists Presley Philpot, Sidecar, McKay and Jonathan Plevyak at 7 p.m. on May 30 (a collaboration among the Huntsville Music Office, East Iris Studios, MidCity District and the Apollo Coalition) that brings new energy to local music venues.  City of Huntsville
  • The Cigar Box Music Festival returns this weekend with a kickoff set for 6 p.m. Friday at Lowe Mill. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Recent rainfall has eased a spring drought for local farmers and boosted business for pest control companies in the Tennessee Valley. The weather has provided much-needed relief and growth for agriculture and related sectors today.  WAFF 48

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Ivey hosted the Rural Health Transformation Workshop at UNA today to brief local healthcare workers on funding that will soon be available through the state-backed program (Rural Health Transformation Program).  FOX 54
  • Downtown Huntsville is facing major traffic delays and will begin water outages at 8 a.m. today. City officials advise residents to allow extra travel time while crews work to restore the water supply.  WAFF 48

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Athens Limestone Wellness Center hosts a free car seat check event today to help parents verify that car seats are installed correctly. Technicians will also provide available seats for families who qualify for programs such as WIC, Medicaid, and AllKids.  WAAY 31
