  • Huntsville Parks and Recreation invites families to celebrate dads and father figures with Dads’ Day at the Park on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Loretta P Spencer Sports Complex—this free event will offer live music, food trucks, sports games and a home run derby.  City of Huntsville
  • At the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, local residents watched the Blue Origin NS-32 launch on Saturday when a pilot-less spaceship and booster lifted off from West Texas and landed safely. The 10-minute mission carried six passengers including Space Camp alumni and marked the 64th trip using reusable rockets—highlighting a milestone in local space efforts.  Huntsville Business Journal
  • A new skating rink at Stoner Park in Huntsville is nearly complete and local roller skaters are excited for its opening—official dates have not yet been announced.  WAFF 48

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Titomic USA opened its 59,000-square-foot facility in Huntsville on Monday as its global headquarters for commercial and defense work. The new site will host live equipment demonstrations and training for making defense, oil and gas and aerospace parts (a project supported by local officials and Innovate Alabama).  AL.com

CRIME NEWS

  • Gregory Kirk—a former pool contractor from Muscle Shoals—was sentenced to 20 years in prison for stealing over $600,000, forging licenses and permits, and fraudulently using a customer’s credit card, according to Attorney General Steve Marshall's Tuesday announcement.  WHNT News 19

  • Lil Wayne will perform at Orion Amphitheater on Sept. 24. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the box office — located at 701 Amphitheater Drive N.W.  AL.com
  • Lil Wayne is set to perform at Orion Amphitheater on September 24th at 8 p.m. as part of his Tha Carter VI Tour—special guests Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington will join him, and tickets go on sale on June 6 at 10 a.m.  WAFF 48

HEALTH NEWS

  • Huntsville Hospital launched a postpartum awareness bracelet program that gives new mothers a way to spot dangers like bleeding, depression and high blood pressure after delivery — the bracelets, worn for 6 to 8 weeks, remind both caregivers and first responders of warning signs. Early positive feedback from patients has led other hospitals across the state to adopt the program — improving early postpartum care.  WHNT News 19
