  • A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Governors Drive (near Summer Street) around 5 a.m. on Friday (June 6) and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  WAFF 48

  • Titomic set up its US headquarters in Huntsville with a ribbon cutting on Monday, June 2 at the former Pratt & Whitney facility. The company showcased its cold spray system for faster production and partnered with Auburn University + UAH to drive innovative manufacturing techniques.  Huntsville Business Journal
  • Air Force veteran Venus Quates moved her technology company LaunchTech from New York to Huntsville in 2021 and grew it to $14 million in revenue with 52 employees. The company focuses on modernizing and securing technology for federal and commercial clients—including the Missile Defense Agency—while backing local STEM initiatives with ties to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and area colleges.  AL.com

CRIME NEWS

  • A Huntsville man charged with killing two women on Bonnell Drive in August 2023 appeared on June 6, 2025 before a judge for a status conference and the state confirmed it will seek the death penalty against the 25-year-old suspect, who was arrested in September 2024 and indicted in October 2024 — he is scheduled to stand trial on Aug. 17, 2026.  WHNT News 19

  • Irving McGuire ended his role as head football coach at Lee High School after four seasons to become Assistant Principal at Sonny Hereford Elementary School—he said the change will let him guide students in a fresh way.  WHNT News 19

  • Friday night, Huntsville faced a severe weather threat as forecasters predicted heavy rain and strong winds. Meteorologists advised residents to stay prepared—checking local alerts for updates.  WAAY 31

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Following a deadly shooting that killed one and injured another, the Huntsville Housing Authority will impose a curfew on public housing residents beginning Monday until Sept 30 — residents must sign a lease addendum by 5 p.m. Monday. The curfew requires residents to stay indoors from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays and from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekends — violations can lead to warnings, fines, or lease termination.  AL.com
