- ➤ The Madison County Sheriff’s Office in Harvest is asking for help to identify an individual linked to a theft that occurred on Wednesday in the 100 block of Wandering Lane — detectives ask anyone with information to contact Detective Harmon. WAAY 31
- ➤ The Huntsville Police Department is running the Summer Slowdown campaign from June 9 to Aug. 12 to curb speed-related crashes and boost safety in neighborhoods and on city streets—police will increase patrols in high-risk areas following 12 fatal speed-related incidents this year. WAAY 31

- ➤ Country music star Luke Bryan will perform at the Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville on September 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale June 13 at 10 a.m.—the concert also features Mae Estes, Cole Goodwin, Adrien Nunez and DJ Rock. WAFF 48

- ➤ Gov. Kay Ivey signed SB 40 on April 7, and the SAFER Together program is now live in Alabama to offer voluntary, temporary firearm storage to help reduce veteran suicide rates. Redland Rifle Company in Hoover became the first Birmingham-area gun shop to join the program—while The Sportsman’s Headquarters in Montgomery also partnered with the initiative. 1819 News
- ➤ Huntsville expects a $10.2 million shortfall in sales tax revenue that has led city officials to require a 1% budget cut for the general fund, capital projects, and city schools—officials said lower consumer spending has caused the decline—and some lost revenue will be partly offset by higher utility payments.
