- ➤ Huntsville Food & Farm Hub is a new online marketplace that connects local producers with local eaters by offering fresh, farm-made food and weekly pickups—service launched Tuesday at the Lumberyard. Local producers keep 79% of the sale price and offer a range of items, including fruits, vegetables, eggs, meats, and jams. FOX 54
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville officials unveiled the final design to expand Big Spring Park East by converting the old City Hall site into 2.4 acres of green space with terraces, a playground, and a pavilion with a green roof— the design links park sections and improves ADA access. The city will bid the project in July and expects construction to finish by the end of 2026. WHNT News 19
- ➤ City officials said Huntsville is starting a process to decide a new public use for the historic Depot and its property — public meetings are scheduled for July 15—16 with both mid-morning and evening sessions and an online survey available. Mayor Tommy Battle, Urban Planning Manager Dennis Madsen, and preservationist Katie Stamps spoke at a recent news conference to explain the project. WHNT News 19
- ➤ The City of Huntsville held its kickoff event Tuesday, June 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the UAH Charger Union Theater to gather public ideas for the University-Medical Transit Oriented Development Study aimed at merging transit and development along University Drive+ a follow-up informal session was held at The Camp in MidCity to discuss residential and affordable housing options.
