ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Jul 5, the Toney Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire on Dollywood Drive and rescued four people—including a child dropped from a loft apartment to a bystander and three injured who were taken by HEMSI—as firefighters secured the scene. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Three people were hospitalized after a house fire in Toney on Saturday at 12:22 p.m.—the fire started in a loft above a garage on Dollywood Drive and both local fire departments put it out while one child was rescued through a window and all are expected to be okay. WAFF 48
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Madison’s zoning board approved a special exception for the Church’s new 30,000-square-foot temple with a 120-foot spire on Thursday — the report said the design is not bulky enough to affect nearby homes and it will be the second temple in Alabama. The city planning commission also recommended annexing nearly 14 acres to provide secondary driveway access and stormwater facilities — a move that will help support the project’s infrastructure.
