- ➤ Huntsville Animal Services is pausing its Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program to focus on catching up with current animals at its shelter. FOX 54
- ➤ Huntsville drivers increased the average time between accidents from 11.7 years in 2015 to 12 years in 2025 — making our city one of the 12 safest large cities — even though it fell from 9th to 12th in the ranking while other major Alabama cities saw bigger declines, according to Allstate. - ➤ Huntsville officers responded to a shooting on the 200 block of Exchange Place on Sunday evening and found an adult with a gunshot wound—negotiators later persuaded a man matching the suspect's description on a nearby roof to surrender, leading to the arrest of 33-year-old Matthew Allan Clark from Woodstock on first-degree assault charges. - ➤ Two people charged with capital murder will appear today at the Madison County Courthouse—Jamarious Beatty faces trial at 9 a.m. for a July shooting that killed Isaac Augusta Young, and Shamekia Strickland will enter a plea for a 2021 stabbing death of 76-year-old Jessie Suttle. WHNT News 19
- ➤ At 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Madison County deputies responded to a shooting on Bent Creek Lane in New Market and found 23-year-old Evan Mayomi with a gunshot wound—paramedics tried to save him but he was pronounced dead—and investigators later charged 31-year-old Xavier Turner with reckless murder, and he is held in Madison County Jail.
