CRIME NEWS

  • Kierra Clark, accused on charges including aggravated kidnapping in connection with Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr.'s disappearance, was extradited to Madison County—her court hearing is now set for May 16 at 9 a.m.—after she posted a $500,000 bail last month.  FOX 54

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Huntsville International Airport had its busiest month on record in June with 160,455 passengers, a 9.1% rise from last June—extra airline seats and added flights helped boost travel.  The Madison Record

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Rep. Dale Strong said he is 100% sure U.S. Space Command headquarters will come to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville because he believes it is the best location for national security—his statement came during an update before a local chamber meeting.  AL.com
  • Representative Dale Strong provided an update in Huntsville on Wednesday afternoon at the VBC Saturn Ballroom—he discussed Congress’s recent actions and his plans for the upcoming year.  WHNT News 19
  • On Wednesday, Huntsville kicked off its year-long celebration of America’s 250th anniversary by forming the Huntsville Salutes America’s 250th Committee — Mayor Tommy Battle said the group will plan civic events, cultural programs and historical talks ahead of July 4.  WHNT News 19

SPORTS NEWS

  • At the 2025 USATF Masters Outdoor Track & Field Nationals held at Milton Frank Stadium, 1,200 athletes from around the world raced while local stars shone; 42-year-old Easter Grant won three gold medals in sprint and relay events and Master Sergeant Antoine Echols won two golds in the 100m and 200m races—organizers say top performers are expected to return next year.  The Madison Record
  • Two major Huntsville groups have announced a new charity partnership for the Rocket City Marathon—scheduled for Dec 14 downtown—to fund a therapy playground at the hospital's Pediatric Therapy and Audiology Department.
