A person died when a car struck a pole on North Memorial Parkway in Huntsville at 10:52 p.m. Sunday night—according to Don Webster with HEMSI.

Bank Independent has named Penny Camp, its executive vice president and newly appointed chief administrative officer, to Leadership Alabama Class XXXV (a prestigious statewide program for top leaders).

On Sunday, Huntsville police arrested 38-year-old Edward Deon White after a standoff at the 4400 block of Patton Road when shots fired into an occupied apartment struck the building with no injuries, and officers charged him with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling with a $30,000 bond—authorities said he refused to communicate during negotiations.
