- ➤ ShowerUp Huntsville gives free mobile showers and laundry services to people in need in Madison, Huntsville and North Alabama. The nonprofit operates on volunteer support and local donations—aiming to build relationships that help users gain confidence to pursue housing, jobs or other resources. The Madison Record
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Alabama in Huntsville announced a new scholarship for Space Camp graduates from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. In-state students will receive $1,000 per year while out-of-state students get $2,000 — both awards can be renewed for up to four academic years if students enroll as full-time first-time undergraduates. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville approved contracts for two new greenways—Meek and Tollgate—that will expand access and improve safety; Meek Greenway will add a 1.78-mile multi-use path from Alabama A&M to Highway 72 while Tollgate Greenway will create a 1.65-mile paved route linking Bankhead Parkway parking to Monte Sano State Park.
