Huntsville-based Eurofins Diatherix plans to close this fall and lay off 55 workers, with layoffs set to begin Oct.
31 at Cummings Research Park (Hudson Alpha Institute). The decision was confirmed in a WARN notice filed Aug. 31.
Onelife Fitness now operates two former Phaze 3 gyms in Huntsville and Madison — acquired on Sept.
1 — and will soon install upgraded equipment and new signage while current memberships stay the same.
Integrated Solutions for Systems was awarded a $47.8 million firm fixed price contract to produce expeditionary maintenance and repair facilities for the Navy; work will be performed in Huntsville and is expected to complete by Sept.
2027. Other local companies also secured related Defense contracts.

Aum Foundation marks a decade of impact with its 10th Annual Bollywood Night on Saturday, Sept.
19 at the Von Braun Center, uniting local businesses and community partners to support programs for young women. The event invites sponsors to expand mentorship, scholarships, and career exploration opportunities in the region.
Albertville High School Aggie Band will perform in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena on Jan.
1, 2028, marking the band's fourth appearance as it celebrates its 100th year. The announcement was made during Aggie Nation Night with a video message from Tournament of Roses President Pam Knapp.
LAUNCHPAD 2026 kicks off Huntsville Music Month with free live concerts on Sept.
4 and today at eight venues—showcasing local and regional artists.

Mastin Lake Road at North Memorial Parkway has been closed since Friday due to overpass construction, and it now allows right in right out access only.
Northbound traffic is expected to resume mid-September and the intersection will fully reopen mid-October after paving is complete.

Explorer Blvd is closed from Friday, Sept.
4 through Monday, Sept. 7 for the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships (a qualifier for the 2028 Paralympics) in Huntsville as athletes on hand bikes and tricycles compete alongside traffic; drivers are urged to exercise caution and greet riders when possible.
