- ➤ Huntsville City Council members discussed the 2026 budget priorities during their meeting yesterday—focusing on proposals to fund city projects and public services that will shape next year’s plans. WAFF 48
- ➤ Today the Huntsville City Council reviewed a proposed FY26 budget of $343,723,103 that will fund road construction, public safety enhancements, and community projects—Mayor Tommy Battle said the plan recycles $7,854,424 in 2025 savings for future needs. Council will meet in a special session Friday to discuss the details and vote on the budget on September 25. Huntsville Business Journal
- ➤ The Huntsville city council approved $4.73 million in federal ERA2 funds to redevelop the outdated Huntsville Summit Apartments—transforming it into Meridian Commons apartments with 100 new units for seniors and disabled residents. Neighborhood Concepts and Redstone Federal Credit Union partnered with city officials to address long-standing issues, and work will begin early next year. WHNT News 19
