  • Olive Garden is testing a new menu that offers lighter portions of seven entrees at a lower price as inflation drives changes in spending; the trial—currently running in 40% of locations including 10 in Alabama—keeps the regular full-sized menu available with unlimited breadsticks and soup or salad.   • Alabama Secretary of Workforce Greg Reed announced wages increased in August to an average of $1,117.54 weekly, the state’s second-highest ever recorded. The unemployment rate dropped to 2.9% as manufacturing and leisure sectors recorded record gains—helping boost economic growth.  1819 News

  • U.S. Rep. Dale Strong reintroduced his SPACEPORT Act to fund upgrades for spaceports like Huntsville International Airport — the first FAA-approved reentry site in the country.   • The City of Huntsville is developing a new downtown parking ordinance to address issues where lots marked as public parking charge fees—dozens of residents were fined for parking. Officials said the ordinance will clarify rules and prevent future fines.  WAFF 48
