- ➤ Redstone Federal Credit Union has opened its first student-run branch at Mae Jemison High School as part of a workforce development program that teaches financial literacy and money management. The new branch, the 10th in North Alabama and central Tennessee, will let students make small transactions during class—giving them real-world banking experience. AL.com
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Back to the Future: The Musical starts today at the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall and will run until Oct. 5—this Broadway adaptation by the film’s creators brings music and classic hit songs to life for local audiences. FOX 54
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Gemini— a black lab trained to detect firearms and gunpowder—joined Madison City Schools to boost campus security by supporting safety measures on site. The school district said the new K-9 will help monitor for weapons and enhance overall safety on campus. WAAY 31
- ➤ Kate O’Neal, who leads the Caring Link, is one of four finalists for a national humanitarian award & her work has brought national attention to the group.
