Women in Huntsville attended a Girls Garage workshop on Saturday—learning to change tires, check fluids, and jump-start a battery.

The training equipped participants with basic auto maintenance skills for everyday use.

State Sen. Donnie Chesteen said the AHSAA did not follow the CHOOSE Act rules as intended and compared it to the NCAA for not fixing its problems.

He said lawmakers will work on changing the rule in the 2026 session (R-Geneva) after a judge let CHOOSE Act students play sports (on Alabama Public Television).
