  • Today, skateboarders of all ages showcased their skills at Bowl Jam 2025 at Get a Way Skate Park — a popular local venue — in Huntsville.  FOX 54
  • Huntsville Parks and Recreation and The Skatepark Project hosted the 2025 BowlJam event on Sunday—bringing local skateboarders and enthusiasts together to show off their skills.  WAFF 48

CULTURE NEWS

  • More than 30 nations participated in a free cultural festival in Huntsville on Saturday where community members shared traditional dress, music, dance, and food. Organizers said Ecuador, Venezuela and Armenia took part for the first time — a sign of growing diversity in the Tennessee Valley.  WHNT News 19
  • The International Festival returned to North Alabama on Saturday at the Jaycee Community Building — the event celebrated global cultures with music, dance, and food.  WAFF 48

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Huntsville’s Fiscal 2026 budget sets aside over $30 million for 60 outside agencies—this includes more than $5.6 million for the public library and funding for the museum, mental health services, arts, children’s museum, and botanical garden while maintaining level support from previous years. The allocations are designed to boost quality services and support for community needs as the city grows.  AL.com

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kroger is recalling two pasta salads—Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad and Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad—manufactured by Nate's Fine Foods due to potential Listeria contamination that can cause serious illness in vulnerable groups. The recalled items were sold from Sept. 6 to Oct. 2 in Alabama and 27 other states, and customers are advised to check their refrigerators for any remaining products.  AL.com

  • Sports anchor Trevor Denton delivered Week 6 edition of Trevor's Toasts, where he reviewed key plays and moments from SEC football last week (SEC) for fans.  WAAY 31
  • HCFC finished the regular season with a 3-0 win as Maximus Ekk scored two goals and Real Gill added one at Carolina Core. The team had already clinched a playoff spot but missed a top-four seed — meaning they must travel in the first round with a matchup to be set on October 9.  WAAY 31
