- ➤ Village of Promise will host the seventh annual One Table Huntsville on November 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Big Spring Park—community members can share a free meal, enjoy live music, and participate in children’s activities with no registration required. Huntsville Business Journal
- ➤ Erica Hardesty, founder of Make It Matter Collective, talked about a new initiative on Oct. 21 — a plan that aims to create better ways for local people to get involved. - ➤ Pilot Ryan Dykstra, who helps with search and rescue, spotted the wreckage of the Anderson family's plane in Montana after severe weather forced him and his father to turn back; the air force confirmed no survivors—a candlelit prayer vigil is scheduled today at Milton Frank Stadium at 6:30 p.m. WHNT News 19

- ➤ Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, is set to release his book, The Seven Rules of Trust: A Blueprint for Building Things That Last, on Oct. 27 to share lessons on trust amid political division (he is a graduate of Auburn and Alabama). The book will discuss how the principles that built Wikipedia can help restore credibility in areas like politics, journalism, and business. AL.com

- ➤ Huntsville International Airport finished a $14 million concourse upgrade that added a second elevator, new escalators, and stairs to help passengers move easily (it followed a $5.7 million restroom update that added family restrooms and a lactation room). FOX 54
- ➤ Mayor Tommy Battle and Huntsville’s Green Team will host the Mayor’s Tree Planting Day at Brahan Spring Park on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon — volunteers are welcome to drop in anytime and receive free tools and seedling trees — an effort to boost Huntsville’s tree canopy and support environmental stewardship. - ➤ Huntsville International Airport’s board approved a $57 million expansion to add over 1,400 parking spaces—boosting total capacity above 5,400—while drivers face temporary traffic changes near Glenn Hearn Blvd; construction will begin before year’s end and take two years. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Huntsville Transit will offer a shuttle from downtown to The Orion Amphitheater for Billy Strings concerts from Oct. 23-25 to give fans a safe and easy ride. The Orion Express will run every 15 minutes from 4-7 p.m. to the venue and from 9 p.m. until one hour after each show with pick-up at the Lumberyard Parking Lot, Garage D, 106 Jefferson Hotel, and select hotels—round-trip tickets cost $6 for most riders and $3 for seniors and those with disabilities.
