- ➤ A pig was found running loose in a front yard on Phillips Road Tuesday—and it was taken into care by Huntsville Animal Services. The agency says the pig likely escaped from its enclosure and is now looking for its owner, who can pick it up at 4950 Triana Blvd. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Madison County law enforcement groups hosted National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events on Saturday to help residents safely dispose of unwanted medications. The program aimed to reduce drug misuse and protect community health. WAFF 48
- ➤ On Saturday morning, OneGenAway hosted a free food giveaway for families affected by the government shutdown + the event provided support for furloughed workers by offering essential food items. WAFF 48

- ➤ Dozens of middle and high school teams raced at Toyota Field Saturday for the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing Trash Dash— the event featured a .6-mile parking lot circuit with tight turns and spin-outs— and teams now plan to reach a national championship spot in the spring. FOX 54

- ➤ On Friday, State Sen. Arthur Orr told the Dale Jackson Show on WVNN that Alabama public schools lost 5,800 students in the largest drop in 40 years — he explained that many families left due to stricter immigration enforcement and some moved to private schools under the CHOOSE Act. 1819 News
