- ➤ A revitalized YMCA opened yesterday in the historic Times Building—located on Holmes Avenue in Huntsville, offering locals a new community hub. WAAY 31
- ➤ The Heart of the Valley YMCA reopened its downtown gym this morning in the Historic Times Building after emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy—CEO Rob Gray said the space features new workout areas and lighting upgrades and will add a family program beginning January 1st. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Triana residents started a petition to oppose a new gas station planned next to a neighborhood of families—residents will voice their concerns at upcoming town council meetings to stop its development. WAAY 31
- ➤ On November 10, Huntsville's Margarita Society donated toys to brighten the holidays and give local children a memorable experience. The event impacted the community (bringing extra holiday cheer to many families). WAAY 31
- ➤ The Sandra Moon Community Complex will add a building for people with special needs to offer improved services — officials said more details on the project plan will be shared soon. WAFF 48

- ➤ Madison Cineplanet is offering seasonal fun with new film showings and special promotions for local moviegoers. The theater will begin these events soon to bring fresh entertainment to the community. WAFF 48
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Alabama in Huntsville board of trustees approved two major projects that will boost research and athletics; the Bevill Center will receive $47.7 million for its renovation into a new cybersecurity research center while a track complex forms part of the $62 million plan. The projects will begin soon to improve campus facilities. AL.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews are finishing the last phase of US 72 East resurfacing from Moores Mill Road to east of the Flint River, but traffic delays will continue through the end of the year as low night temperatures slow paving work—temperatures that may stop work on some days. The Alabama Department of Transportation is also repaving intersections and turn lanes to fix potholes and create a smoother ride. WAFF 48

- ➤ Madison City Schools hosted a Mental Health Fair on November 10 that featured over two dozen local organizations providing mental health and substance abuse resources for families—strengthening community support. WAAY 31
