  • Huntsville Animal Services and Helping Animals Without Shelter (HAWS) hosted a pet food and supply giveaway at the Tractor Supply store to support local pet owners.  WAFF 48
  • Huntsville is hosting a festive season of events — Galaxy of Lights runs until New Year’s Eve with dog nights and races, Skating in the Park begins Nov. 21, the Tinsel Trail lights downtown on Nov. 28, and the Trash Pandas Christmas Light Show and Christmas Parade are scheduled for December.  AL.com
  • Huntsville residents gathered for a 5K run to honor first responders killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The event united locals in a tribute—reminding the community of the sacrifices made that day.  WAFF 48

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On University Drive so far in 2025, Huntsville Police say there have been 12 pedestrian collisions and that pedestrians crossing outside marked crosswalks must yield to vehicles — officers urge both drivers and pedestrians to obey traffic signals and use safe crossing areas.  FOX 54

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Leroy Pope Mansion is one of the few buildings still in use since Huntsville was founded over two centuries ago—its preservation offers a rare look into the city’s early history.  WAFF 48
