- ➤ Huntsville-based Pinnacle Solutions, a subsidiary of Akima, was awarded a $369 million Air Force contract to design, develop and deliver the T-7A Maintenance Training System — the project will create 25 to 30 new jobs and begin its initial three years of development in Huntsville to provide advanced training solutions. - ➤ James Clemens High School students completed their inaugural Sages and Seekers program after weeks of sharing stories and activities with senior citizens. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville Utilities will resume assessing late fees and disconnecting service for non-payment on Jan. 5—this decision follows a pause during a software transition and government shutdown that helped customers manage financial hardships. WAAY 31
- ➤ A government shutdown is impacting Huntsville animal shelters and may reduce animal care services—officials are reviewing options to handle staffing and supply challenges. WAFF 48
- ➤ The Von Braun Center will begin a nearly $3.3 million ice system replacement project in June 2026 that will take about three months—officials said it will have little impact on summer events. WAFF 48
- ➤ Huntsville Utilities announced on Monday that it will resume late fees and disconnects for non-payment beginning January 5—customers with unpaid bills risk disconnection.
