The University of Alabama in Huntsville approved three new projects to boost campus facilities and student learning spaces yesterday — the initiative will upgrade classrooms and study areas for a better experience.

The Huntsville Planning Commission approved plans for the new Chapman Middle School and Magnet School on Tuesday—this facility will replace the old building and open for the 2027-28 school year while the district continues to use the current campus during construction.

It will feature 39 classrooms, a gymnasium, a storm shelter, and outdoor recreational areas and is the second new school facility approved by the commission after Montview Elementary and Magnet School in October.
