- ➤ The beloved Preston Valley Christmas Lights will not light this holiday season because the Zeek family's home suffered hail damage and burst pipes—this pause ends a tradition that drew 12,000 to 15,000 visitors each year and will return next year. WAAY 31
- ➤ Huntsville City Council has launched the Deck the Districts holiday light contest for homeowners in all five districts, with participants required to submit quality photos online by December 12. Winners will be announced at the December 18 City Council meeting and receive a festive decorative yard sign—granting them bragging rights. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Huntsville families in need can receive more than 1,000 free Thanksgiving turkey boxes on Monday and Tuesday from the Downtown Rescue Mission at 1400 Evangel Drive – individuals without a voucher join a waiting list and will be notified if a box becomes available. Each box, distributed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., serves four to six people. AL.com

- ➤ The LEGO Group announced that the free LEGO Holiday Lane will open at Bridge Street Town Center from December 5 to 7—offering visitors two areas with interactive storefronts and a towering illuminated tree. The celebration will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday with lines closing at 5:30 p.m. WHNT News 19
- ➤ The Huntsville Music Office is hosting A FLY Christmas curated by ADIA at Mars Music Hall on Saturday, Dec. 20 — the show will feature ADIA, Jazz McKenzie, Lamont Landers, and Leon Jorden performing holiday classics. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville International Airport reported nearly 153,000 passengers in October—a 3.9% increase over October 2024—even as the federal shutdown ended last week. If this growth continues, the airport will break its record for the third consecutive year while exceeding budget projections. AL.com

- ➤ After a local news report revealed that residents in a Monrovia neighborhood had not received mail for nearly two weeks, USPS delivered all delayed mail on Thursday morning — an extra truck also passed through with additional items. WAFF 48
- ➤ Huntsville Parks and Recreation is hosting a month of holiday events across the city — including the Big Spring Jingle on Dec. 19 from 4-8 p.m. in Big Spring Park with a DJ dance party, food trucks, crafts and a Santa photo-op — with additional activities such as a Toys for Tots Drive and a wreath workshop set throughout December. - ➤ The Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine opened in November 2015 and has helped many patients with rare illnesses by using genomic tests—offering counseling and screenings when needed.
