- ➤ Huntsville radio host Mojo is 40 feet high at the Ashley Furniture Home Store parking lot for the 23rd annual Bikes or Bust fundraiser, where he will stay for four days to help collect bicycles for the Kids to Love Foundation—aiming to brighten the Christmas season for foster children. - ➤ Calhoun Community College celebrated reaching the 10,000-student enrollment mark on Thursday+ the milestone marks a key achievement in the school’s growth. FOX 54
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Huntsville will add six new hybrid diesel/electric buses to its transit fleet using a $6.1 million federal grant, replacing older vehicles that have ended service. Mayor Tommy Battle and transit officials say the buses will run cleaner and use less fuel—efforts that will modernize the city's public transportation system. FOX 54
- ➤ Huntsville Animal Services lowered dog euthanasia from about forty-five cases a month to 14 in October by using new programs and a computer upgrade. Adoptions rose to 102 a month and transfers now average 32 while voluntary drop-offs fell—director John Fischer credits the changes to updated methods and stronger community support. AL.com
