- ➤ Deputy Fire Marshal Trent Bennett said leaving Christmas lights on when no one is home increases the risk of fires from overheating wires and damaged cords—especially overnight. He advised turning off the lights before sleeping and using UL approved LED lights to reduce hazards to both homes and pets. FOX 54
