  • ACF Plus moved to its new Mission Street location in Madison after a grand opening last month. Program coordinator Jennifer Kelly said the organization helps families navigate medically complex adoptions by connecting birth families with adoptive parents.  The Madison Record
  • Fran Fluhler, director of Huntsville’s Manna House, has served the community for over 20 years on S Memorial Pkwy by distributing produce and essentials to local families in need — she urges residents to share surplus for healthier food choices.  Alabama Public Radio
  • Madison’s National Charity League Chapter connects mothers and daughters through community service, leadership training, and cultural activities.   • The Rocket City Trash Pandas’ mascot Sprocket surprised two Hazel Green seniors + Taylor Hughes and Jade Jolly with a $2,000 scholarship on Wednesday at their campus.  WAFF 48
  • Dr. Shankar Mahalingam, dean of UAH College of Engineering, was named to the 2025 Sigma Xi Cohort of Fellows on the strength of his pioneering research in turbulent combustion and leadership in mentoring students.   • USPS announced it is considering relocating the Owens Cross Roads post office to a new site within 3 miles of its current location due to overcrowding and parking issues. Residents can submit comments by mail within 45 days.  WAFF 48

  • Madison Mompreneur launched its Holiday Shopping Guide featuring over 100 mom-owned businesses in the area.
