- ➤ Madison County Salvation Army is asking for bell ringers to join its Red Kettle Campaign (the largest annual fundraiser) during the Christmas season in the community. Volunteers can sign up soon to support the holiday effort. WAAY 31
- ➤ City officials and residents celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Park at Hays Farm on Thursday — a nine-acre park with a gazebo, pavilion, waterwall and fitness court that connects to the city’s greenway network and serves as a recreation hub for south Huntsville. AL.com
- ➤ Lieutenant Colonel Susan Shapiro (a veteran, cancer survivor and animal rescuer who grew up in a military family) is honored as Veteran of the Month in New Market. The award recognizes her dedicated service and resilience. WAFF 48

- ➤ Huntsville City Schools broke ground on a shared $56 million campus that will house Montview Elementary and a STEM Magnet School — the 110,000 sqft facility serving pre-K to fifth grade and located west of North Memorial Parkway will open in August 2027. AL.com
