  • A Huntsville family is asking for help to locate Robert Miller, who was last heard from on June 5 & was reported missing on December 6.  WAAY 31
  • Madison Public Library hosts a Noon Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with crafts and a K-Pop dance, while Huntsville Botanical Garden holds a 21-plus Lights, Glamour, Garden event from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., featuring jazz, hors d'oeuvres and a champagne toast.  The Madison Record
  • Bank Independent’s annual Toy Share Drive collected 2,924 toys and raised $2,763.99 during the 2025 campaign, distributing donations to children in need across North Alabama and generating over $1 million in economic impact since it began in 2011 as part of the Helping Hands Foundation outreach efforts.  Huntsville Business Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Church officials at Pope Leo are finishing setup for their first Christmas celebration today - volunteers are installing decorations at the church to welcome the local community.  WAAY 31

EDUCATION NEWS

  • CLAS honored Assistant Principal Jennifer Flanagan and Administrative Secretary Piper Moore at James Clemens High School for outstanding service, with Flanagan recognized for her work on the Re-Route program to boost academic turnarounds + Moore commended for her effective office management.  The Madison Record
  • James Clemens High School runs a Senior Engineering Internship Program that places top students in local companies to work 15 hours a week on real projects. The 12-week program starts this semester with interns at KTech, AME & IDEX Corporation.  The Madison Record

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Meteorologist Grace Anello warned that a significant temperature change is in store for the holiday, with current Huntsville conditions at 60°F but Christmas Day forecast to bring warmer weather. More details were shared on WAAY 31 News.  WAAY 31

SPORTS NEWS

  • FanDuel launched FanDuel Predicts in Alabama today under federal commodity-trading guidelines; the platform lets fans place sports predictions from 1 cent up to 99 cents and may push lawmakers to address the betting ban to gain state revenue, said State House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels.  WAFF 48
  • More than 1,400 runners braved 25° temperatures today for the 49th Rocket City Marathon, starting and finishing at the Von Braun Center. Madison athletes — led by Josh Whitehead — placed well in the race presented by the Huntsville Track Club and the Huntsville Sports Commission.  The Madison Record
  • Christian Wester — a James Clemens High senior representing the Huntsville Swim Association — swam at the Speedo Winter Junior Nationals in Indianapolis.
