Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered earlier versions of his famous speech in Huntsville at Oakwood University on March 19, 1962 and at Miami’s Historic Hampton House, showing the speech’s deep roots.
An Oakwood graduate recalled the campus excitement during that historic visit.
U.S.S.R.C. released a full interview on its Best Planetarium contest and upcoming Artemis II events to highlight new space-themed activities for local fans (including contest rules and event previews).

Members of the American Red Cross and Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Chapter from Alabama A&M installed free smoke alarms in homes in Harvest to help keep local residents safe.

Alabama legislators are considering Senate Bill 19 to remove copays for prostate cancer screenings for Black men and those with a family history, which would require insurance companies to cover the full cost.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Steve Livingston, would take effect in October if passed.
