- ➤ On Saturday, May 24th, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly rollover on Highway 67 at the intersection of Mountain Top and Julian Road in the Ryan Crossroads area, and the roadway remained closed while deputies, EMS and VFD managed the scene. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Toney Volunteer Fire and Rescue crews responded to a multi-vehicle wreck on May 24 at Old Railroad Bed Road near McKee Road — a power pole broke and authorities closed the road, advising drivers to take alternate routes. WAFF 48
- ➤ On Saturday morning, a middle-aged boater was struck by lightning on Lake Guntersville — he sustained burns and wounds to his hands and legs and was taken to Birmingham for treatment. AL.com
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Boaz woman, Lisa O. Fitts, aged 40, was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Whitesboro Road east of Sardis when the vehicle left the road, hit a culvert, overturned and struck a house — the driver was injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital as authorities investigated the crash.
