The City of Huntsville postponed the annual Juneteenth Festival from June 14 to June 28 because of weather.

The festival will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Big Spring Park and will include performances, educational activities, and fireworks.

Huntsville police arrested Amber Marie Baker, 25, after a shooting early Monday in the 3900 block of Rucker Circle that left 22-year-old Nicholas Kyle Howell dead—police said the incident began as a planned transaction when Baker used a gun.

Huntsville Police Department and Madison County District Attorney’s Office arrested 10 individuals on June 13–14—charging them with 34 counts including human trafficking and electronic solicitation of a child—and investigations remain ongoing with each suspect set for an Aniyah’s Law hearing.
