Huntsville Animal Services is pausing its Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program to focus on catching up with current animals at its shelter.

Two people charged with capital murder will appear today at the Madison County Courthouse—Jamarious Beatty faces trial at 9 a.m. for a July shooting that killed Isaac Augusta Young, and Shamekia Strickland will enter a plea for a 2021 stabbing death of 76-year-old Jessie Suttle.

At 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Madison County deputies responded to a shooting on Bent Creek Lane in New Market and found 23-year-old Evan Mayomi with a gunshot wound—paramedics tried to save him but he was pronounced dead—and investigators later charged 31-year-old Xavier Turner with reckless murder, and he is held in Madison County Jail.

Rainbow Trouble hosted Alabama’s 4th Annual Trans Pride event on Sunday — a gathering that underscored local support for trans rights.

Head coach Dawn Thornton said that in her first year with the Lady Bulldogs, Bulldog fans embraced her program (as noted by FOX54 Sports Director Mo Carter during the Sunday Sitdown interview) and she expects that support will drive future success.
