- ➤ Alabama's Jazz McKenzie impressed the Voice coaches with her strong performance of Smokey Robinson's Cruisin' on Monday night — after a break, she was praised by all four judges. The Huntsville native now moves on to the Playoffs and will sing again Dec. 1 — a step that boosts her chance to win the show. AL.com
- ➤ Huntsville Botanical Gardens celebrates 30 years with a new interactive Galaxy of Lights display in the Butterfly Garden—designed by volunteers and retired engineers—that invites visitors to join in the holiday magic. The exhibit will run through the end of December and features updated technology to enhance the experience. WHNT News 19
- ➤ Christkindlmarket Huntsville will return in December at The Orion Amphitheater — the free event will run from Dec. 12 to Dec. 14 and offer seasonal food, drinks, gifts and music from over 60 artists. - ➤ The University of Alabama in Huntsville approved three new projects to boost campus facilities and student learning spaces yesterday — the initiative will upgrade classrooms and study areas for a better experience. WAFF 48
- ➤ The Huntsville Planning Commission approved plans for the new Chapman Middle School and Magnet School on Tuesday—this facility will replace the old building and open for the 2027-28 school year while the district continues to use the current campus during construction. It will feature 39 classrooms, a gymnasium, a storm shelter, and outdoor recreational areas and is the second new school facility approved by the commission after Montview Elementary and Magnet School in October. - ➤ The Hartselle High School band is preparing to perform in Chicago's Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Parade on November 22, marking their second appearance at this event that features floats, giant helium balloons and possible celebrity sightings—band director Randall Key said the students are excited for the opportunity. - ➤ Drake State Community and Technical College reported its highest enrollment growth in over 10 years for Fall as it enrolled 1,417 students—a 19% increase from last year's 1,187, and credit hour production rose 23% to 10,760 hours. - ➤ The Huntsville Police Department promoted 10 officers at a ceremony held on November 19 in the City Council Chambers. Chief Kirk Giles praised their leadership and dedication to public safety as they took the next step in their careers. City of Huntsville
- ➤ Today, the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau launched new marketing tools including a mobile visitor center and a faster website to help visitors explore local attractions. The bureau began a gratitude tour — visiting and serving local partners — to thank them for boosting the area's tourism economy. Huntsville Business Journal

- ➤ The Huntsville-Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2026 inductees on Wednesday, revealing a group that includes athletes from the Olympics, NFL and Major League Baseball such as Jeremy 'Jerry' Gordon and Donnie Humphrey. The inductees will be honored at a banquet (April 13 at the Von Braun Center Saturn Ballroom) and a Special Achievement award will be presented to wrestler David Lee. WHNT News 19
- ➤ The UAH Chargers will play basketball and volleyball in SportsMED Arena for the next ten years under a new agreement with SportsMED Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C.— the UA System Board approved the $1.3 million naming rights deal with a $325,000 contribution from SportsMED on Nov. 7.
